Our Story

Aspen Sky Designs hand crafts unique and custom cremation urns in our (Bruce and Noelle) family workshop. Back in 2009, Noelle’s mom passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57 while we were on our honeymoon. It instantly took life from the highest of joyful moments to the lowest. Later in 2014, we lost Bruce’s dad after a short battle with cancer. We have spent the years since then finding ways to help others who have experienced loss.

In 2015, we purchased a fixer-upper, A-frame house in the beautiful St. Croix River Valley outside of the Twin Cities. The property also had a large pole barn and a rundown peacock coop. After restoring the home and converting the coop into a relaxing bunkhouse, we turned our sights to transforming the horse barn into a bustling, family workshop.

In 2022, after taking three months as a family to travel, rejuvenate, explore, and dream in places like Egypt, Türkiye, Dubai, Switzerland, Italy, and Scotland we came back to America and knew the time was right to start our next chapter.

Aspen Sky Designs was founded in 2022 as a way to help others by combining our skill sets with what we have learned through grief. We saw a gap in what was available and knew people were looking for more personalized options than mass produced urns.

As a woodworker, Bruce builds each urn, then urns are hand painted by Noelle, a professional artist of 30+ years. We focus on quality, uniqueness, and customization.

Why choose AspenSky Designs?

We use our own experience with loss to help you navigate the process of creating the right urn that will fully honor and memorialize yourself or your loved one; whether its an urn featuring a painting of a father's drum set for a grieving daughter, or an urn a woman has created for herself and her husband with their family farm proudly painted across the front. We work with our clients to create cremation urns that honor the life lived and memories made together.

We want the AspenSky Designs urns to bring you and your family a sense of connection to your loved one, their humanness, and what brought them joy..

Every urn tells a story and is crafted with care, then painted with reverence. Our urns embody more than just a vessel. They are a testament to what makes each of us unique and can be a powerful tool to let you decide how you want to be remembered.

Urns are available throughout the United States. You can find them at AspenSkyDesigns.com and in the NoelleRollinsArt store on Etsy and Amazon.
